Samsung Not Want to Follow Security iPhone 5S
Not long after sliding the iPhone 5S , Samsung announced will soon launch a 64 - bit processor for mobile. Is this South Korean company will also implement fingerprint sensor technology ?
In the near future , it turns out Samsung not interested in making that kind of security features . " We never said that Samsung was considering using fingerprint sensor for Galaxy Note 3 . We have not yet developed the technology , " said a Samsung official , as quoted by Pocket Lint from The Korea Herald .
Previously , it was rumored that crowded Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will carry the fingerprint scanner . But , Samsung is quite confident in relying on Knox feature for security purposes such devices .
Analysts at the State Ginseng found there are two things that hinder Samsung implement fingerprint -based security technology .
First , to achieve this goal , Samsung must cooperate with Crucialtek , the only company in South Korea which has specialized in related fields . The problem is , the company is regarded as still lags behind Apple acquired AuthenTec to develop fingerprint technology in the iPhone 5S .
"It'll take a year ( for Crucialtek ) to be able to create a stable technology , " said analyst Kim Hye - yong of Woori Investment & Securities .
The second , Samsung likely want to wait to see if the fingerprint scanner technology will last long in the market and proved to be more than just a trend .
" In the mobile sector , Samsung better behaved like followers who acted quickly than risk takers . Samsung is waiting for Apple to open up the market , " said Hyundai Securities researcher , Yoon Jung -sun .
