New Intel chip Delayed Until 2014

Broadwell is the next generation of Intel chips that promise more efficient power consumption up to 30 percent compared Haswell processor family ( Core 4th Generation ) currently available .

Power savings obtained by switching using 14nm fabrication , of 22nm are used now . The transition will also shrink the size of the processor so that it can fit inside a tablet or other device without the need for a cooling fan .

However , Intel's 14nm manufacturing process was still problematic and can not be issued a desired level of production . Broadwell arrival had been delayed until next year ( 2014 ) .

It was explained by Intel CEO Brian Kraznich the teleconference session after the release of its third quarter financial statements .

" It is simply a matter of there are many products that are not perfect , " said Kraznich , as quoted by The Register . " Along with the development , it will be repaired and the level of production , ie the number of processor cores per silicon wafer produced , will increase . "

Broadwell chips scheduled to start mass production in the first quarter of 2014. Intel claims to have " quite comfortable " with the level of production but still implement various improvements and changes to improve quality .
